Baby Bear 08-02-09

Home Up

On February 9, 2008, Baby Bear whelped a black male pup sired by Kodiak.

When Patience proved to be a nervous mother, we removed her pups and gave them to Baby Bear.  At the moment she is raising Patience' five pups and her own black male.

Baby Bear's black male pup has been sold.

Two of the gray pups -- a male and a female -- are still available.

This litter -- Baby Bear's single and Patience' five foster-pups -- has done very well:

When we started feeding the rice pablum when they were 2 weeks old, they really started to grow.

When the pups moved to the whelping shed, they started eating solid puppy food, moistened with water.  The initial response was less that enthusiastic, but that changed quickly.

By the time they'd turned five weeks old, solid dry food was the preferred event of the day.
