During the day on August 14, 2010, Ruby produced a litter of ten black pups:  four are males; the remaining six are females.  They have their father, Kodiak's, bulk and size with their mother's docile temperament.  We have split the litter and, for the next week at least, will be swapping pups every four hours to reduce the chance of roll-over accidents and to give mom, who is doing this for the first time, a bit of a gradual break-in.

 

 

Pups from this litter will be ready to go to new homes around Thanksgiving Weekend.

10-08-28:

The litter moved outside today.  Tomorrow they start on solid food.

10-08-29:

As of today, there are six females and three males in this litter still available.

Today we started on solid food:  thank goodness mommy licks us clean :

 

A meal of watery rice pablum goes down well, but it makes a mess too.

 

On September 15th, mom and the pups look good:

 

 

 

 

10-09-23:

Each of the 10 pups in this litter has found a new home.
